據有關媒體20日報道，美國電影藝術與科學學院針對第79屆奧斯卡設計的海報，精心挑選了電影史上最有紀念意義和最值得引用的75句臺詞。海報的構思和設計由洛杉磯TBWA/Chiat/Day 廣告公司負責，選取的照片是由埃爾伯特·沃森(Albert Watson)傾力打造的小雕像。
學院院長希德·甘尼斯(Sid Ganis)表示：“如果一張圖片的價值相當於1000個詞彙的話，所引用的每一句臺詞至少也等價于500個詞彙。”海報選用的臺詞是由學院董事會成員和其他成員共同敲定的。所有敲定的臺詞——只有一句除外——均來自1936年到2005年間獲得奧斯卡提名的影片和劇本；同一部影片有兩句對白同時入選的只有1996年的《甜心先生》(Jerry Maguire)。學院代表稱，75句對白中之含有一句臺詞出自一部並未獲得提名的影片，這是為影迷準備的一個猜謎遊戲，讓影迷們找出這部“另類臺詞”。
人們最終將要看到的海報長和寬分別是40英寸和27英寸，用回收紙製成的紙張印刷而成，背景選用的是一塊黑色帆布，所選用的臺詞均由黃金色金屬墨水寫成，以達到更為突出的效果。學院向全世界發行的海報數量超過6.5萬張，有意者可在3月12日當天通過學院的網站或者撥打800-554-1814訂購電話訂購。被第79屆奧斯卡海報選中的臺詞如下：
